      <description>&lt;h2 id=&#34;the-macro-picture&#34;&gt;The Macro Picture&lt;/h2&gt;&#xA;&lt;p&gt;One of the most important and useful concepts that creeps out of physics is the &lt;strong&gt;partition function&lt;/strong&gt;.
